which is a better title than, say, "Drunken Assclown Tells Bullshit Story at Main Gate." Link - 10FEB05 Traffic was backed up along 190 to the Fort Hood Street exit, and back past the Clear Creek Gate entrance. Traffic through the main gate was eventually redirected through the Tank Destroyer Avenue entrance and over to Clear Creek as well.

Go to this Link . It's a good read... my favorite part was: In the afternoon, protesters standing outside al-Hariri's palace were heard chanting: "There is no God but Allah and Syria is the enemy of Allah." Then, cars with young men honking horns, holding al-Hariri's pictures and waving black flags poured into the streets until there was such a traffic jam that cars could not move. Whether directly or indirectly responsible, Syria done messed up, folks.

After putting it off for months, the Sauds couldn't help but jump on the bandwagon after what went down in Iraq: Link Hay, look! al-Jazeera has something to say, too! Link Way to be upbeat about the strides your Arab brethren are taking, Al-Jay! If you can't go all the way, why bothering taking small steps, amirite? While some were calling for the Suadis to take Democratic steps just this past month Link ("The government of Saudi Arabia can demonstrate its leadership in the...

I'm so glad I have the Early Bird news service the military provides me. What they do, see, is collect all sorts of pertinent news articles from various publications, and post them on the web for the perusal of the armed forces. It is because of this service that I now link you to the Washington Post: Link (Note: I was warned that a subscription was required, but I could view it without one) I was first alerted to the story of this hero in an article (reproduced in the Early Bird) wri...

Another funny way to read it is, "US Girl Soldiers ' Mud Fight Shame." (Thank you, UK Mirror Link ) Originally, I ran across this while surfing al-Jazeera for some language training today. Of course, I couldn't find it on the Arabic side, but I was trying to cross reference with their English language articles. Link The actual title doesn't have the commas (commas added for comedic effect). I figured, well, this can't be as bad as it sounds, right? Wrong. Google News broug...

ARMOR GEDDON - I was directed to this site through Citizen Smash, and while I haven't had a chance to read a lot of it, the author's description of ground combat and chasing insurgents in Iraq was riveting in the article I did read. CBFTW - For all intents and purposes, CB is no longer updating his site. A soldier with a Stryker Brigade operating out of Mosul, he took some flak (not literally) for some perceived OPSEC issues. Pulling down most of his articles, he seemingly sulked in Iraq...

I found a few things interesting about this Link recent article: 1. This is the first time that I've noticed the sub-title from the blog doesn't come over to the Forums post. This article's sub-title is, "America Looks for a way out but cant find the escape hatch". This idea is supported in the text by: Bush has already stated that he wil [sic] withdraw his troops from Iraq if the new government asks for a withdrawl [sic]. It is clear that the USA wants to cut its losses and leave...

Iraq election-at-a-glance Link and Q&A: Iraqi election Link The above are two good summaries of the basics of the Iraqi election, both from the BBC. The most definitive information I've seen in one place yet. Besides that, I'm worried about the violence. I'm worried about our soliders, about the Iraqi Security Forces and the police, about the voters who even think of braving the crossfire to get to the polls. It seems the insurgents are very scared of democracy. ...

"[S]ome 255,000 Iraqis living overseas had registered in 14 nations. Organizers had expected that roughly one million voters would sign up." But why? Could it be that they don't really have a clue how many Iraqis are out there? Have they overestimated the expatriate population? 'In Britain, registration figures remained relatively low, despite the extension. By Tuesday morning, 29,121 Iraqis living in Britain had traveled to three centers in London, Glasgow and Manchester to register....

"Human intelligence, the ability to get inside somebody's mind, the ability to read somebody's mail, the ability to listen to somebody's phone call -- that somebody being the enemy," Bush said in an interview with CNN senior White House correspondent John King. Integrated Software Applications I - a four credit hour, eight week, self-paced online course offered by Central Texas College via the eArmyU program. I don't truly have to pay for these courses (the army provides nearly all costs for eArmyU if you qualify, including this not-so-nifty laptop I'm typing on now), except for the fact that I'm in my seventh year of service. But I'm well on my way to one Associate's Degree, and half-way towards another. So, on I press. I won't make any pro...

Located at Northpark Center in Dallas (as well as other locations around the country), Maggiano's Little Italy doesn't look like your standard chain restaurant. Maggiano's offers both "off the menu" items and a "family dinner style" meal, featuring a set of selections from different categories of food. Our group was six adults, two children (4 and 2); relatives were visiting over the holidays. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait (we had not called ahead with reservations), so we...

From WWE's official site, and the archive of last week's RAW (27DEC04) Link : "Earlier in the night, Muhammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari interrupted Stacy Keibler when she was revealing her New Year’s resolution, and berated the crowd, telling them that they are all prejudiced towards Arab Americans. They then took their tirade to the announce booth and started pushing around good ol’ J.R. and the King. They later complained to Eric Bischoff, requesting a match against the two, but Bisch...
