I don't know exactly how I pulled this off... well, okay, I guess I do. I did not finish all my assignments on time, but I emailed the instructor a week-and-a-half out of the end date, letting him know that I hadn't gotten things done, that I felt that I had bitten off more than I could chew comfortably, and what other things were vying for my time (family life, new promotion, Platoon Sergeant duties). He told me that he had gone Warrant while he was in specifically to avoid PSG BS, so he's give me some leeway...

I did all but two assignments, carefully calculated to give me a solid 'C'. I couldn't bring myself to half-ass those other assignments; they were already very late and I don't feel I deserve a better grade, to be honest.

I think I got a 'B'. He gave a bunch of extra credit (I think) for doing *three* of the quizzes each chapter instead of the two required. So shamtastic, though, as those "quizzes" can be done over and over and over until they're right... it even tells you which ones you got wrong so you can go back and do them correctly.

:/

I keep saying, "I think," because he hasn't really posted final grades. He has me listed as 880/900 points... but has an 88% next to it, which seems to indicate that he thinks there were 1000 points.

Either way, my GPA doesn't go down, but my confidence in the system does.

Hey Pseudo, don't knock it. You did your best, even if it was "shamtastic" or even craptactular. And 88% ain't anything to be ashamed of.

He gave a bunch of extra credit

Lucky that your instructor gave you some extra credit to put you above a 'C'. You may not be so lucky next semester.

Good for you, and good luck next spring!

You may not be so lucky next semester.

I may not be so lucky in my Philosophy class, over in just under four weeks.

You passed!

I have barely been making C's in most of my classes this semester. Hell, I just wanna get through this semester. Only 2 more weeks. Only one class do I have a solid A in. Oh well.

Good for you pseudo. All that head knowledge is rated very high in most circles, rather too high at times. There are other things that matter more such as your family life but the worldly view may try to tell you different. Keep plugging. All the philosophy classes I took, I think have long since flown right out of my head along with a lot of other things. This too shall pass!

Accreditation aside (the college I'm at now accepted the classes), CTC is pretty much worthless in as far as their "standards," but what you take away from the course is what really counts in the end. There were quite a few facts I picked up from the US History II course that I appreciate. I disagree with singrdave-- you didn't do your best. I know you can do a lot better... it would just be a lot easier if your other circumstances were more conducive to studying.

Keep grinding away at those classes. I really can't wait to take philosophy myself, but I have so many science classes to plow through that it may be a while. Also kick your soldiers' butts into class too!
