or, HIST 1301 Final Grades
This class finished a little more recently than my GOVT class. Keep in mind that this is also undergrad, but that it's History *ONE* (US History through Reconstruction) as opposed to Government *TWO*. I don't know whether that means it's easier, or that not all the morons are weeded out yet.
Let's look at the scores, maybe that will help.
Open book tests:
Possible points in each: 50
My scores: 45/48/50
Class averages: 36.58/36.29/37.46
Proctored, computer final exam:
Possible points: 100
My score: 68 (much harder than the open book tests)
Class average: 47.78
Overall:
Possible points: 340
My points: 273 (80.29 -
Class average: 226.26 (66.55 - D)
O...kay. While I didn't do as well in this class, I'll freely admit I worked even less than I did in the previous one. This class overlapped with my Government class by four weeks, so that was four weeks I wasn't working on History. Four weeks out of eight weeks... anyway, whatever. I got a B for C work. C, for crazy.
The overall grades weren't *quite* as disappointing, but they were still low. C'mon, people, a D won't transfer!
No big examples of stupid in this class. The discussion boards were supposed to have a question you ask your peers to get their opinions on a historical event/person/whatever (the example was "Would you want to serve in Washington's army?"), but many of the first questions posted were factual/regurgitation of the text book ("How did the loss of larger mammals, effect the course of human events?" [sic, all of it was so sic]).
So glad to be done. A short break, studying for my DLPT and my promotion board, and then back into it this fall for History II and the dreaded Public Speaking, which will finish up my second Associate degree (General Studies through Central Texas College, this time).
