Now, this won't help you out unless you're in the Greater Fort Hood area. Madman inexplicably doesn't have an online presence, and in fact isn't listed yet in the Yellow Pages. It seems to be a newer gaming store focussed specifically on console gaming, even those that are no longer produced.
Featuring a wide variety of games from XBox, GameCube, PS2, PS1, Nintendo64, Gameboy, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, etc., the owner's stated goal is to maintain around 90% of available titles in stock. This is ambitious, and he freely admitted that there were specific titles he just couldn't keep in (Ninja Gaiden for Super Nintendo, for example).
Maybe the reason I liked the place is that they had the game I was looking for, comparably priced with online sources. Maybe it was the 5% military discount (which I didn't have to ask for). Maybe it was the friendly service, and the way he offered to hook the game up for me to not only show it worked, but to make sure that the game play was what I was expecting. I was also informed that for every game purchased for a "major game system" (I don't know if N64 counts), the customer gets one game free (and I'm not sure what the stipulations are on cost. Still, it's a nice offer).

I'll definitely be directing my comrades-in-arms to this store, although several of them have already gone. In addition to the great service and excellent selection, they also run video game tournaments, especially Halo and Halo 2. That should draw my guys down there if nothing else.
