Please note that the Marine Corps colors are *not* Yellow and Pink, they just look like that under fluorescent lighting. Honestly, if you want to make your own colored icing, use the "professional" strength food coloring... the others just aren't vivid enough.

It was the nicest I've seen GJL, though. He was truly touched that a bunch of Army pogues would get the Marines a cake, or even figure out when the Marine Corps birthday was. I clued him in that I had been a wanna-be back in High School, though. Too bad the Geez couldn't be there, I had jokes...

"Could I get the oldest and youngest Marines present to cut the cake please? I believe that Mr. L is the youngest, and unless one of the guys from that fateful day at the pub in Philly are present, I'm pretty sure SSG Geezer is the oldest."

GJL assured me that all Marines, even the ones who were in Fallujah, would have *some* sort of celebration, even if it was just the reading of the Commandant's message and some MRE pound cake.

Ooh-rah, Marines.
