For those of ye who do not know... today be International Talk Like a Pirate Day! Ye lubbers can divine information from this site: Link

A worthy holiday it be, indeed!

Bonus track: While on TDY to Germany with Cochise and greywar, the subject of "civilian clothes day" came up amongst the locally stationed soldiers. One of them suggested "pirate day," as she has a "thing" for Johnny Depp. Coincidentally, the Army Times I had been reading featured a two-page article about "Talk Like a Pirate Day" and another article about "Pirates of the Carribean." I was quite taken aback that this young girl couldn't pronounce "avast" until I corrected her. ("AH-vist" she said...)

Interesting idea to say the least. I guess I will just have to suffer being the damsel in distress abducted by the foul pirates......

I spent the summer after high school playing in the orchestra for a local production of the Pirates of Penzance. I can't think of pirates without laughing.

Had I but known yestere'en were talk like a pirate day, I would have keel-hauled a scurvy dog or two. A dip o' the cutlass to yeh, Pseudo, and the same to me mateys (sp?) there in Texas. Particularly to Greywar, who we have long known as a pirate of the ass type.

With cat like tread, upon our prey we steal!
In silence dread, our cautious way we feel!
No sound at all, we never speak a word!
A fly's footfall would be distinctly heard!

I also did a production of Pirates of Penzance many years ago. Great fun!
