An Inane Distraction

First, the link: Link
I've gotta figure out how to make that say something else...

This is a fun little web-based MMORPG. It's free (at least for now), and doesn't make any attempt to take itself seriously. This is evidenced immediately by the character class selection: Seal Clubber, Turtle Tamer, Pastamancer (studies Noodlecraft), Sauceror (uneasy truce with the Pastamancers), Disco Bandit (the one I chose), and Accordian Thief.

For grey, there's always the ability to either buy or craft an Asshat. (I believe you can craft it from 2 bum cheeks, which you get as a rare drop off of a rushing bum, who bum rushes you.)

I wholeheartedly recommend and endorse this product. (Make sure you pay attention at the beginning, and visit Mt. Noob.)

C'mon, how can you not love a game that has game updates like:

July 4
The burrito bug from yesterday has been fixed -- thanks to everybody who reported it.

It's incredibly disturbing, but I have signed up. Like here, my username is singrdave. I am not long on originality, and once I find a good username I stick with it. That way, no one has to ask what my username is!

I am not seeing how to heal yourself, and the chat window is hopelessly inane. I am down to one hit point. I am a level 1 polka criminal. I thought it would be very cool indeed. I was right.

Go to the campground and rest. That restores both Hit Points and Moxie Points, but it *does* use up an adventure.
From what I've seen, resting gives +1-3 HP and +3 MP, so use your Moxie liberally (or at least at the rate that you use your HP).
I haven't even used the chat window yet. I think you get further capabilities at a higher level... or maybe when you go to the Temple of Literacy. I forget.
Also, explore all the locations. Only locations with a (1) next to them take an adventure to explore.

Have fun.

My apologies again to the gent whose comment I deleted from my most recent article. I do agree that KoL kicks some serious ass. If you want to message me in the game, my log-in is the same as my handle here.

pseudo,

to make a link that says something worthwhile, you should just type in the HTML link tag yourself.

It looks like this:

<a href=http://COOL.WEBADDRESS.COM>descriptive text here!</a>

Finally! Someone who would explain it to me!
greywar tried, but apparently level 3 users have a different interface than we mere citizens. Thanks, cita.

To add in... BlueDev posted a tutorial on oleteach's blog. It also includes how to make the link open a new browser window. You can see it here - Is there any help out there?

Thanks, chip. And, well, thanks to BlueDev, too...

I just noticed I'm "The shy one" on oleteach's blog. I think grey's been telling stories on me.

I tried out Kingdom of Loathing. Pretty fun so far, if a bit slow on the refreshes. Coulda been a one-off server repair issue, though.
I'm a Pastamancer! I have beaten many cans of Asparagus and Knob Goblins! Woo!

Don't forget to explore, and to go back to areas you went to earlier. You have to work to unlock some of the things there... almost all of it is funny.

Maybe you'll eventually buy some Scrumptious Reagent at pseudosoldier's Army Surplus... someday.
