The weight that I had managed to take off earlier this year was almost entirely replaced over the past 7 weeks. 6 weeks of having my sons with me for the summer, plus one week in the field: I ate way too much during both of those periods of time, for various reasons. Honestly, I just didn't feel like policing myself with the kids here, preparing entirely separate meals for us, and was rather tired just dealing with day-to-day stuff anyway. I continue to increase the amount of respect that I have for successful single parents; it's hard work! With the field time... well, they won't give me any MREs, so I go snag fast food (Burger King on base, McDonald's/Taco Bell/Sonic when I actually had enough time to go home), and eat leftover MRE pieces as I go. Basically, it's way too much food even though I was burning off a lot just by being out there, moving around, under the weight of my gear (which I didn't wear often enough).
I'm going to be tracking again because it keeps me honest. I'm starting off embarassingly today, but it's still important that I put this up here:
PT: slow 3 miles, mostly interval training but too much walking
Propel fitness water
Chips and salsa (bright side: the evil chips are finally all gone now)
Crystal Light and a protein bar
Crystal Light, microwave corn and a Lean Cuisine Panini
And that's just halfway through the day, so I'll update this post later this evening. I'm looking at actually using the NutriSystem food that a colleague gave me months ago, possibly starting next week (Monday). I have four weeks of it available... we'll see how it goes.
Update:
Went to the gym after work, did 15 minutes of intervals on the treadmill, three sets of leg presses (250#, 10/10/8 reps), and 15 minutes on the stationary bike.
I've had some peanuts since I've been home and am getting ready to grill a pair of chicken breasts and nuke up some veggies.
I will likely have two light beers tonight, but then that particular monster will also be removed from my apartment.
Update 2:
Protein snacks, diet sodas, 15 minutes in the pool, 2 slices of wheat bread with jam.
Bedtime.
