The third Saturday of May is considered Armed Forces Day. The local community is great to the small presence of active military at the base here (probably partially due to the large number of retired military in the community). This year and last they have put on a free picnic for the troops out at the nearby lake/recreation facility. Both this year and last I've taken my sons, since it was something cool for us to do on a Daddy weekend (which happen on the 1st, 3rd and 5th weekends of each month).

I had 3 eggs with salsa for breakfast, and I followed it up with some mini rice cakes. Out at the picnic, I had coleslaw, potato salad, beans and brisket (fatty! yum). It rained a bit today, which is a shame since the picnic is such a nice gesture from the community.

Early this afternoon, we went to Mr. Gatti's pizza buffet for a small birthday celebration... I ate again, then. I had an energy bar later this afternoon. Now I'm having a Lean Cuisine... too many calories today! And not nearly enough activity; it wasn't good pool weather.

We may go to see Shrek tomorrow if the early afternoon shows aren't all sold out. Should be a good time.

Next weekend I get them for the summer!

I noticed that on the calendar, about Armed Forces Day! Sounds like you had a good day, despite the rain!

Hey, you're allowed one day to have whatever you want since you are so deligent with your diet and workout! If you haven't been doing that, you should so as to not feel guilty!

Yeah for the summer! I plan on taking my two younger ones to see Shrek too...that's if my 12 year old wants to tag along or not!
