I've been getting too much sun this week. I feel a bit beat down, but I'm convinced that I'm looking more tone up top from carrying around the 40lb ruck (much less rucking for me the past few days; we decided to let the student leadership actually lead, which requires us to back off a bit). I'm not starving myself, but I am intaking less calories than I'm using... although it's hard to tell for sure since I had Burger King for lunch (self-imposed 1/2 hour lunch break; the students had 2 hours).

This morning we worked on search and seizure, this time of (generally) friendly non-combatants. The students got to roleplay against each other a bit and some of it was hilarious... some of it was not. (No statements to me from female privates that I can quote out of context, though.)

Over lunch, the cadre looked at the grenade assault course that we'll be taking the students through tomorrow. It's a good thing that we had them practice grenade technique at the very tail end of today...

This afternoon, three of us were 'opposing forces'. Generally friendly non-combatants, just armed because we could be. We were looking for my goat, and his goats, and his goats, although we all disagreed on whose goats they were. The US forces came and questioned and searched us... but got embroiled in our local soap opera style antics, and I wound up getting stabbed to death by a Mexican Iraqi.

Crazy.

What's crazier is that I was the first kill all day. Bleh.

Finally: I have cactus stuck in my right calf. I can't get the tiny needles out, there's maybe a dozen of them, and they're bugging the crap out of me. Bleh again.

Keep looking. In San Angelo, there's enough goats for everybody!!!

usually in someone's front yard.......
