Missing: Wallace & Grommit Curse of the Wererabbit, Bruce Almighty, and a paperback copy of Cannery Row.

I came home Friday to find the opened (and empty) Amazon package inside my apartment on top of two identical phone books. Another package (containing the issue of Secret Society of Super-Villains that has my birth month on the cover) was not disturbed. I'd rather the Amazon package be missing in its entirety; as it was the wrapping paper with the "Happy Belated Birthday" notes to me and my boy was still in there. It would also be easier to explain to Amazon as lost mail...

I understand that you could hock the DVDs for $1-5 each (brand new and all), but who steals a paperback copy of Steinbeck?

I love that book, but I doubt I'd steal it- my guilt would be too great after seeing the Birthday note.... Happy Belated Birthday.

At least they had good taste........

The Post Office's story and that of my apartment manager have finally synched up; it appears to be one of my no-good neighbors who would steal wrapped birthday presents.

Now to just get my sister to contact Amazon to see if they're willing to replace them (it's not their fault, after all).
