Sometimes, I like to say things to my son that aren't serious. Like telling him that we need to pick up more spankings at the store because we're almost out. Or that we're going to Spanking Land when he asks where we're going. I had to have a talk with him yesterday when he got a little bent out of shape over it ("Tell me and don't do the spanking part!"), but he couldn't remember that I ever actually spanked him, so it's okay. I don't now, and it has been a long while.
Friday night as we were driving home, we had this exchange:
Dad: So, it's not too late, kiddo. Do you just want to go to Daddy's place or go somewhere?
Son: Where else would we go? (He was probably expecting me to say Spanking City.)
Dad: Well, we could go out clubbing, you know... meet some honies?
Son: Pizza bunny?
I guess I should mention that mild inattentiveness may run in my family. Sometimes, he's not sure what he's listening to, so he kind of substitutes... try as I might, I couldn't get him to hear me say "meet some honies."
Yesterday, I established that now (in his mind) "pizza bunny" = "seeing girls". I suppose that's a start.
