Having gone through an obstacle course on Friday, and generally more physically active than I had been in months, I thought I might run down a list of my "sports injuries":

Right armpit - stretched skin (increase in muscle mass)
Right elbow - bruised all to hell (deep, too, from the obstacle course)
Left bicep - deep quarter-sized bruise (random damage)
Both forearems - sunburn (from the o-course and the lake on Friday)
Right wrist - scraped and cable burnt (o-course)
Right thumb - jammed up
Back of right hand - bruised
Right shoulderblade - odd scratch/bruise pattern (falling flat on my back off a cable on the o-course)
Right lovehandle - 2 inch strip of bruising
Left lovehandle - 4.5 inch strip of bruising (both from an inadequate harness on a cable obstacle)
Inner right thigh - bruise
Inner left knee - bruise
General muscle aches and fatigue.

I feel great! Long run tomorrow...

I have a great remedy for those bruises and aches and pains that you have.

It involves a bathtub full of hot water, some epsom salts, and some essential oils.  The combination of the heat, salts and the oils can do wonders for bruises and aching muscles and joints.  After I totalled my Jeep I spent a good hour every day utilizing that remedy, and it really helped my broken bones and battered and bruised body.

I've got some stuff I can send you if you like.

cool sounding remedy Dharma. I love essential oils. I think they really work. You should try them pseudo.

Seems like the cable thing didn't go too well for you (written as a MAJOR understatement). Hope next time you have to do this you can get a better harness.

That falling flat on your back business can be very nasty. Hope that days 2 and 3 after don't prove too hard on the bod.

Oof. That's the course I lost a lot of skin on. They had the thin ropes then, and I hit muscle failure the third time up the rope (second time through the course that day.) Looked down, and there was too many excited drill sergeants to drop without breaking a leg, so I just slid.

Also, we had a girl fall and break her tailbone that day. For that matter I think someone's been seriously injured or crippled on every Army obstacle course I've been on. (yes, I know, technically this one's a Marine course) Why do we keep doing it? Besides that it's fun of course...........
