Nope. Not really much here.

It has been asked of me (by multiple friends, actually) if there are any gaming stores or comic stores in San Angelo, the city that I call my newest home.

Sadly... no. There doesn't seem to be any any comic book shops in the immediate area. The guy at Waldenbooks (who chatted me up on recent comics after noticing I browsed the comic rack and bought a pack of HeroClix) said there were NONE. Crazy... it's a college town, fer cripe's sake!

Looks like I'll be reapplying for a subscription with Book Stan' out in Killeen... either get them to ship it to me once a month or just make sure I can head out there. Shouldn't be too big a deal, actually.

Games on the other hand... I've heard about Specialties, but I was too scared to enter their location in the mall. Too 'anime' influenced up front, with the Pokemon and Hello Kitty stuff... their other location, near Hasting's on Knickerbocker scared me the first time I saw it as well. At least there's a Magic: the Gathering sign in the window. I need to see what they have and what games they support.

Worse comes to worse... I have some friends online that I'm going to be playing the Highlander CCG with. I could start playing Magic Online again, but that's probably more than I want to get into. I do enjoy these hobbies, but I think I'm going to have my plate full for the next good while, anyway.

That's odd. There used to be three gaming/comic stores years ago. Guess they all closed down. There was one very near one of the gates (the gate closer to the school house area) right along the road that fed into that gate. Another one was near the college, in a little strip mall thing that had no more than 5 or so stores. There was one more near the Hastings.

Sad to hear that they may all be gone.
