Adventures in Outprocessing, Part: whatever part I'm on
Published on February 27, 2006 By pseudosoldier In Work
They only kicked back 1/2 of what I tried to turn in:

Gortex
Wet Weather Pants
Canteen Cover
Canteen
Canteen Cup
First Aid Pouch
Kevlar Cover
Kevlar (So, I need to replace the webbing?)
some other things

And I forgot some things:
Sweater
Field Jacket Liner
Pile Cap
Coveralls (I have to turn these in?!? There's paint all over them now!)
maybe something else

And I felt too guilty to show them my Wet Weather Top. I think there's soda all over it, probably a Coke.

They never take anyones Kevlar cover and I should have warned you about the webbing. The rest is par for the course... I can't beleive you still had the coveralls after all this time!

I actually used them awhile back... to paint the barracks when you rats were coming back from the desert! I need to de-patch them and wash out what I can. I'm certain they'll be trashed, but I don't want to pay for them.

Dude, I have everything, even after six years. I just didn't remember to bring it all.

And I certainly didn't clean much ahead of time. I'm surprised they took what they did.

You'd think they'd cut you some kind of slack after having it so long. You filthy pig, you.

I didn't even try the canteens, the hassle was worth more to me than the money.

I'm trying the canteen (singular, for me), but if they don't accept this other stuff tomorrow, I'm just writing a check and getting out of there. I have realized that I constantly pay for convenience anyway, so what's the difference here? As long as it doesn't cost *too* much.

Replaced the Kevlar webbing and chin strap. Soaked the boots (drying now). Laundered the wet weather gear (and drip dried). Laundered First Aid Pouch, Kevlar Cover, Canteen Cover and dried. Need to wash Gortex (with a washcloth). Found everything else, de-patched and laundered the coveralls - still have white latex paint on them.

CIF, part II, tomorrow morning at 0730. Whee.
